At around 2:30 this afternoon, I experienced my first ash fall. It wasn't nearly as cool as I thought it would be. For some reason, I thought we'd see more dramatic skies with some flashes of lightening. We saw none of that, just grey overcast skies and little particles, like brown snow, falling from the sky. If I sniffed really hard (which wasn't really advisable), I detected a bit of brimstone.
So there it is, my very first ash fall. I expected more that a giant mess to clean up.
